Catching up and some things i have done!

I can not believe how quickly the time flies by and how bad i have been at blogging! I have actually been doing lots of interesting things and i have failed to share them! So now is catch up time!
Firstly - the lovely wedding of Graeme and Mary at highgate house.
She looked stunning and her flowers were a beautiful choice of soft pastel pinks with the feathery astilbe. They looked lovely.

2 weeks latter and another highgate house wedding.  This time congratulations to Pauline and Rob.
Also went to Dovecote farm - a new rural wedding venue near kettering. Got some lovely photo from Danielle Mobbs the photographer for the day.

Getting prepared for another wedding fair on Sunday13th.
Look out for pictures from the event.
Live catwalk shows and all things wedding based!
I will look forward to meeting all you brides to be!

Funeral Spray

There is a certain peaceful pleasure in creating funeral flowers as a last gift from a loved person.
This single ended spray was created using pale blue Delphiniums, blue eryngium, yellow roses, white freesia and solidago.
A fitting fair well for a loved gentleman.

Some recent gift arrangements

I love to do flowers in oasis. Why? Because they stay exactly were you put them!
Here are two arrangements both in oasis and in baskets of different styles.
Let me know if you have a favourite and why!

This is a hand tied arrangement in an aqua pack(bubble of water)

Funeral Single Ended Spray

However strange it may sound funeral flowers are what I love to do the most. Its such a special thing to get right and a fitting tribute can make a horrible occasion bearable.
This spray was for a gentlemen's funerals so I used blues, purples and greens.  We have in this arrangement the purple calla lily, Blue delphiniums, Green Eustoma and solidago(golden rod).
A variety of foliage helps to finish this arrangement off.

Please leave me a comment. Your feedback is important!

Birthday Bouquet

Exotic Anthuruims with delicate soft blue nigella, velvet roses and gyp.
A perfect birthday present for £35

Vintage Red

Red rose, astrantia, hypericum, and eryguim bouquet was the choice of my bride Vikki.

She also had rose buttonholes with some fern and gyp.

Congratulations to her and the lucky man who became her husband!

Wild and Pretty

The setting was a barn and the style was wild country with a pastel pink colour scheme.
Cara chose a pale pink rose and what could be better than the glorious sweet avalanche rose. On the day these roses had opened up amazingly and looked stunning! Cara also had Freesias, Eustoma, Spray roses and buplerum.

The bridesmaids had the same but with white roses replacing the pink ones.

The mums had pink and white spray rose corsages.

The car was packed and ready to deliver jam jars and tea cups of flowers!

At the barn there was a plenty of jam jars dotted about in the outside area.

And inside candles and tea cups on the top table.

Hope Cara and Sean have a great holiday and many happy years of marriage!

Classic with a rustic twist

Katherine and James tied the knot at weston favell in May.
Katherines bouquet was a natural colour palette consisting of roses, freesia, gypsopohilia, and rosemary. All the bouquets were finished in a wrap of rustic burlap.

The 4 bridesmaids had a simple hand tied gypsophilia bouquet.

The buttonholes were a simple single rose with rustic string finish.

And to finish the mums had an elegant corsage in neutral colours.

And as in every wedding there are plenty of thank you's to be said, so these bouquets were just the job!

Hues of Blue In April

Congratulations to Annamarie and Izanee who both looked very happy on their special day.
Annamarie chose a beautiful soft bouquet of roses, hydrangea, nigella and gypsophilia.
The beautiful bridesmaids held long stemmed roses tied with royal blue ribbon.
They all looked amazing.

There was a table top arrangement during the ceremony. This was latter moved to the top table for dinner.

For the table arrangements at the Marriott Annamarie went for simple drama with large avalanche roses and tall delphiniums in slender vases.

Congratulations and best wishes to the newly weds.

March Wedding

Well the weather was not great this weekend but this bride chose a beautiful warm colour scheme with rich red roses. Her hand tied bouquet consisted of Gran prix and black bacarra rose, skimmia, hypercuim berries and pitto.  Finished with a wrap of lace.

Nicolle looked beautiful on the day.
A selection of the delivery to include the wrist corsages, buttonholes and mother of the grooms corsage.

This is the top table flower spray ready to go! Red rose and hydrangea as the focal flowers and white larkspur. Simple and stunning!

The little bridesmaids had white roses, eutoma and freesia hand ties.

Page boy buttonholes using spray roses!

Church flowers consisted of 2 arrangements, this tall one and a low compact posy all in crushed ice gel.

Congratulations Nicolle and Gareth.

Mothers Day 2013

It has been a busy weekend for all us florists, getting those appreciation gifts to all the hard working mums! Here are a few of this weekends deliveries. Hope every one had a good weekend and enjoys their flowers.

Friday 15 February 2013

Valentines day has come and gone now. What can be more lovely than a wedding on this special day. Congratulations to Samantha and Jon on their special day yesterday.
Here are some of the lovely flowers from the day. The colour choice was purple, cream and lilac.
The venue was at Dodford Manor.

The little bridesmaid Belle was holding a basket of petals.

The tables centrepieces were fishbowls with hydrangea heads and either steel grass or dendrobuim orchids.

The ceremony table/room had a large double ended spray with candles and two floor standing candles in large vases. This would of looked stunning when it was lit.

Wish the new bride and groom and their lovely family all the best for the future.
